In Dec 2017 a teenage American Youtuber with a subscription base of 15 million people, Logan Paul, went to the forest. Found and then videoed a deceased man while joking with his friends. It took Youtube days to respond to the video to criticize it and it was actually Paul who took it down. He was somehow then penalized, but I don't know what happened. In any case, this was roundly and rightly criticized by many Youtubers in Japan. His apology was never accepted as genuine.
Looks like the suicide forest, although I don't know if it is.
