ChatGPT plans meals for a week

In the early days of personal computing, people were wondering what you could use these things for. One answer that came up frequently: Store your recipes! Now we have ChatGPT, which is much more versatile than those old personal computers. But people are still wondering: What the hell can we do with them besides waste our time in fun ways? Well, how about plan your menues for a week. That's what I had the Chatster do this morning.

* * * * *

I would like you to plan my menus for a week, three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am a single male. I like standard American food, but also Chinese. For breakfast I generally have cold cereal with fruit, some juice, and coffee. I also like pancakes, waffles, and French toast. Bacon or sausage. Give me some of that, but mix it up.

For lunch, I generally eat sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly, but also sliced turkey, roast beef, or ham. Mix it up a little, perhaps some salads and soups. For dinner, meat and potatoes. Chicken, pork, steak. Vegetables: green beans, corn, broccoli, carrots, sweat potatoes, regular potatoes. And dessert: surprise me.

Certainly, I can help you plan a varied menu for a week that includes a mix of your favorite American and Chinese dishes. Here's a seven-day meal plan for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with some dessert ideas:

Day 1:

  • Breakfast: Cold cereal with fresh strawberries, a glass of orange juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Turkey and avocado sandwich with a side of mixed greens salad.
  • Dinner: Grilled chicken breast with baked sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli, and a fruit salad for dessert.

Day 2:

  • Breakfast: Pancakes with blueberries, a glass of apple juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich.
  • Dinner: Beef stir-fry with mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots) and steamed rice. Finish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Day 3:

  • Breakfast: Waffles with maple syrup, a glass of grapefruit juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Peanut butter and banana sandwich with carrot sticks.
  • Dinner: Baked salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Enjoy a slice of apple pie for dessert.

Day 4:

  • Breakfast: French toast with sliced peaches, a glass of cranberry juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Tuna salad sandwich with a side of coleslaw.
  • Dinner: Grilled pork chops with roasted sweet potatoes and sautéed spinach. Treat yourself to a chocolate mousse for dessert.

Day 5:

  • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with bacon, a glass of pineapple juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato) sandwich with a side of corn and black bean salad.
  • Dinner: Beef pot roast with carrots and potatoes, followed by a slice of key lime pie for dessert.

Day 6:

  • Breakfast: Oatmeal with sliced bananas, a glass of apple juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Vegetable soup with a turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich.
  • Dinner: Teriyaki chicken with stir-fried vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, and snap peas) and steamed white rice. Finish with a fortune cookie for dessert.

Day 7:

  • Breakfast: Yogurt with mixed berries, a glass of cranberry juice, and coffee.
  • Lunch: Roast beef and cheddar sandwich with a side of Caesar salad.
  • Dinner: Grilled steak with garlic butter, baked potatoes, and asparagus. Indulge in a slice of cheesecake for dessert.
