I learned from my cousin, when I received a Japanese woodblock print that had belonged to my Uncle, that he had been the British army representative at a ritual in Hiroshima, were women ritual accepted his apology for the destruction of the city.
Had a profound effect apparently, uneasy about it for years, taking the part of the monster it would seem.
Alters how you see it. My mind sometimes wanders to the story when I look at the print. This is rather startling as it transforms to someone I knew.
