The pansy is an allusion to the French cover of a book by Claude Lévi-Strauss which was translated into English as The Savage Mind. That book was very influential for my in my undergraduate years. Here's a link to the book: https://www.amazon.com/Pensee-Sauvage-Claude-L%C3%A9vi-Strauss/dp/2259002110
Here is a no tracking, no trickle up, sans neocapitalists, sans enshitification link... The Savage Mind (French: La Pensée sauvage), also translated as Wild Thought, is a 1962 work of structural anthropologyby the anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Savage_Mind
Which leads to... "Reading Notes on Deleuze and Guattari Capitalism & Schizophrenia" https://people.duke.edu/~hardt/Deleuze&Guattari.html Thanks.
