Rick Beato interviews Mohini Day, an insanely excellent bass player from Kolkata

Dey was born and brought up in Mumbai. When she was born, her parents were struggling to make ends meet, as her father worked as a session musician. He noticed his daughter's musical talent before she turned three and began to nurture it. Dey received her first bass guitar when she was nine or ten.

This next clip starts out as a bass solo, and long one, she cues the drummer at about 4:23, the rest of the band at about 4:42, and then things get really interesting at about 5:10 where she leads the band in call and response rounds of konnokol syllables, first vocally, and then instrumentally.
